The Young & Rebellious

Winter's coming, so time to get those warm knits and black ankle boots off the shelf. The latter, I found on Sarenza, an online shop where you can buy a very diverse range of shoes and accessories. The ones I found are actually in sales among other shoes going from a nice sneaker to crazy boots. For this shoot, these shoes were my starting point. Entering the Baum und Pferdgarten showroom, I immediately knew: prints x heavy knits are IT. This amazing heavy woven wool knit in rather dark orange combined with their over-the-knee skirt with print really represents the eccentric vibe of their fall/winter collection.

Baum und Pferdgarten positioned the Mods and their sense of detail as the main inspiration for their fall/winter collection. The Mods? Let me give you a short history class in fashion: The 1960’s saw the rise of a youth rebellion whose aesthetics would be copied and eternalized as one of the most influential époques in fashion history. After WWII the youth stood-up against the conservative and old-fashioned British culture, representing everything new and modern. These loud and unconventional youngsters were described by the British press as “vapid, fashion-obsessed hedonists” that later earned them their historical title as ‘the Mods’.

Oh and nice to know: Baum und Pferdgarten is now sold in 25 countries worldwide! I enjoy witnessing how this brand keeps on growing and how stylish, self-conscious women keep falling in love with my favorite Scandinavian brand of all times.
