Black and white stories #4
Hi you! I had been planning to create a blogpost including intant pictures taken with my Intax Mini 70 and finally I can share the result with you. These pictures were taken on my trip to Abu Dhabi. It's funny how it actually took us 10 minutes taking the pictures, as you only get one shot (literally). We did not take any redo's of pictures so this are the actual 'finals' of this series. And that's exactly what I like about instant and analogue photography: you have ONE shot. I guess it slows you down and makes you really think about what you want to capture, how you want to capture it and when you want to capture it.
One of the most used instant film mediums at the moment is Fujifilm’s Instax film. The pictures in this series were taken with a Fujifilm Instax Mini 70. Also: as it was highly requested, they recently released Monochrome film. This is actually the one I used in this series and I love it! As you can see, the depth of focus works best at one meter distance from your object (me in this case). I'd advice not to take pictures from more than 2-3 meters distance, as the focus might get rather blurry. So: portret photography is my favorite with this device.
Why analogue pictures on an online platform? I have always been fascinated by analogue photography and instant pictures. One of the people I admire for their work is Elisabeth Ouni, a Belgian talented woman who photographs all kinds of people in the music industry, going from Pharrell Williams to Post Malone to Kendrick Lamar. Make sure you check out A Polaroid Story, her webpage if you'd be interested in seeing and falling in love with her work. She actually inspired me to take my analogue pictures to the digital world, as I love to see her work online.
Feel free to send me your personal inspirations in terms of analogue and digital photography. I'm curious!
